PLT Placement - Central Coast
Land Specialists
Fantastic opportunity to gain valuable in Property, Commercial, Environmental, Planning law and litigation experience under the guidance of the experienced principal lawyer. Land Specialists is currently seeking a part-time PLT student who is energetic, eager to learn and who has a particular interest in Property, Environment and Planning and Litigation. Land Specialists consists of a team of experienced lawyers and town planning consultants and located at the Mariners Centre of Excellence in Tuggerah, a 10-minute walk from the Tuggerah railway station. The successful candidate will develop their legal research skills, litigation skills and commercial acumen. They will work directly with the principal director who graduated with honours from The University of Sydney, who is an expert in his field and also a part time law lecturer. This is a voluntary position for a minimum of 2 days per week up to full time (to suit candidate’s availability). Requirements: Have completed or be close to completing College of Law, or its equivalent at a participating University; Available to work 2 days per week; and Wishing to either do a ‘short’ format work experience (15 days) or the ‘standard’ format of work experience (75 days). During this placement you will gain experience including but not limited to, liaise directly with clients providing legal information and services, draft legal documents & correspondence and prepare and undertake legal research applicable to current and pending litigations. The work will satisfy the PLT work experience requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: Legal research on commercial, property and environmental issues Drafting contracts including contracts for sale, leases and commercial agreements Preparation for litigation Telephone and email correspondence with clients Previous student feedback: 2020 Student - "Thank you so much for your mentoring and support during this placement.
