We require a law student preferably a second year student who would be interested in joining our team to assist our small team of lawyers who practice in commercialisation, technology law, intellectual property, corporate advisory providing a broad range of legal administrative support, to assist our team of lawyers. This position is to to replace an existing staff member who will be admitted at the end of 2019 this leaving this position vacant. Our offices are suituated within the "golden triangle" in Brisbane CBD in an A grade building. We currently use Actionstep which would be an advantage but not necessary, experience in a legal environment would be preferred must and an advantage. Administration Assistance/Reception (this is not a para-legal position). Boutique commercial law firm – City based Administration duties including but not limited to answering phones, general filing, banking, end of month billing, correspondence, research, writing. Hours 8.30 - 5.00pm (must be able to work these days Thursday and Fridays only at this stage). The firm Dundas Lawyers is a boutique commercial law firm with a commitment to innovation and customer service. The firm's clients range from start-ups and IP rich companies and multinationals. The Firm is establishing its Quality Management System (QMS) under the Law9000 Standard and uses the Actionstep document system. The role Your role will involve assisting our small team of lawyers with their work by providing a broad range of administrative support, including answering the firm's phone. The role would suit a person studying law part-time or who can show initiative and a commitment to continuous improvement. We currently have other admin staff studying law and your role would fit in, having 2 administration people on any one day. A good phone manner is required. The person You must: (a) have a keen interest in law; (b) must have a keen interest in technology law, intellectual property, corporate advisory and litigation; (c) live in Brisbane and be legally able to work in Australia; (c) touch type at over 70+ words per minute; (d) be highly computer literate with advanced skills in MS word; (e) experience with our document management system Actionstep an advantage but not necessary; (f) must have experience in a legal office environment; (h) be able to start in the week commence at short; and (i) have a can do attitude, turn up to work on time and a willingness to learn. Most importantly you will have a "very high attention" to detail and a passion and enthusiasm for continuous improvement. We have a no mobile phone on desk policy.
