Document Automation Team The recruitment team is motivated by the passion to recognise rising talent. Our internship program places the best students in a structured 16-week program to focus on all things legal drafting and document automation. Interns will grow technically and personally through their experiences with their mentor, manager and team. This a rare opportunity for talented students to exercise their research and critical thinking skills while helping develop the technology that makes our platform the first of its kind in Australia. Beyond the tech and business side of things, lnterns will also be gaining experience in more traditional legal areas such as contract drafting, legal research and client advisory. Instead of photocopying or going to fetch coffee all day, you will be involved in the critical functions of the organisation and your work will affect the overall accomplishment of Lawpath’s goals. Qualifications Currently studying a law degree Strongly desired Able to work at minimum 2 days per week Strong interest in legal technology and non-traditional legal services Familiarity with NewLaw and legal technology Previous legal experience Interest in coding Ability to work independently and in teams Passionate, energetic, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Responsibilities Researching a wide range of legal documents Drafting legal documents such as resolutions, waivers, non-disclosure agreements, employment agreements etc. Formatting documents for readability and concision Converting documents into usable code for online consumption Assisting in the development and testing of new products Basic HTML code editing and drafting Who we are Lawpath is Australia’s largest online legal services provider, and we’re always coming up with new ways to disrupt the legal industry. We provide legal solutions to clients for a fraction of the cost and complexity of traditional law firms. At Lawpath you will be a part of a diverse team that has experience working for giants like LegalZoom, LexisNexis, Apple, Getty Images, Yahoo!, Bigcommerce, Tom Waterhouse, and Minter Ellison. You will work at the intersection of the legal and tech teams at our company to gain both traditional and more cutting-edge legal skills. Whilst this role is unpaid, it is rich in experience and many of our stellar interns end up being offered paid positions in the team. In light of the recent COVID-19 situation, we are currently working from home. With Lawpath being a cloud based platform, we have continued daily operations without a hiccup. You will still receive the same level of training and guidance during your internship. When Lawpath moves back into our regular place of work, you will also be able to work from our office in Surry Hills.
