AC Law Group is pleased to announce it is expanding and is seeking the assistance of PLT students or final year law students. This position is not for paid employment and would suit candidates undergoing their practical components of the PLT or law students looking to gain experience at a criminal firm.
Our co-founder 2017 NSW Australian of the Year Deng Adut, one of Australia’s best-known solicitors, is dedicated to Western Sydney (having been raised in Blacktown following his life as a child soldier in South Sudan).
To bring the best legal representation to the west and so clients no longer had to travel east to access high-calibre representation, he opened AC Law Group’s first criminal law office in Blacktown and its head office at Parramatta. He retains a third office in Sydney CBD as a central meeting point for other clients.
The PLT position will involve working at both the Blacktown and Parramatta office, as well as various courts around Sydney and our city office when required.
We are a criminal law firm and the applicants must have an interest in criminal law. If you are not interested in a career in criminal law, do not bother applying. We have a history of offering employment to PLT students who have shown themselves worthy of employment.
The work is varied and persons with ability will find the role provides the basis for a career in criminal law.
PLTs who prove themselves can expect to be in court most days, drafting correspondence and other legal documents, undergoing research and having frequent interaction with clients. Finally, you may assist solicitors in attending trials and sitting in on interesting high profile cases in different court jurisdictions including the Local Court, District Court and Supreme Court.
PLTs must be available for a minimum of 3 days a week.
