We are now accepting applications for a dedicated full time or part-time Family Law Lawyer to join our Echuca team on the banks of the Murray River.

The Role:

We are seeking a Lawyer preferably with 3+ post admission experience ('PAE') who will practice predominately in Family Law and Criminal Law (including Intervention Order matters). This position is an excellent opportunity to develop advocacy skills in the Federal Circuit Court, Family Court, Magistrates Court of Victoria and the Local Court of New South Wales.

Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate must:

• have good drafting skills, manage client files, draft letters and affidavits, and have strong advocacy skills to be able to attend court on a regular basis;
• have a strong grasp on the fundamental principles of family law including having a working knowledge of Intervention Orders, experience in summary criminal matters would be an advantage;
• have good organisation and time management skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; work collaboratively as well as independently;
• work on multiple tasks while under deadlines; and be competent in using Microsoft Office.

Having competent knowledge in other areas of practice is welcomed.

Qualifications:

• 3 years’ post admission experience as a lawyer is preferred;
• Be an admitted legal practitioner;
• Hold a current Practising Certificate or be able to obtain one prior to commencing employment; and
• Be admitted to the High Court of Australia or be admitted prior to commencing employment.

  Salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant based on experience.
