About the role

An exciting opportunity to join our strata and building defects practice group, as a full-time Law Graduate. This tight knit team currently comprises three Partners supported by two associates, a lawyer and a graduate.

Working closely with, and being mentored by partners and senior lawyers, this is a great opportunity for an interesting and varied role working across all aspects of insurance and strata law, with particular emphasis on:

  • Owners Corporation disputes and combustible cladding claims
  • Domestic building insurance and defect claims
  • VCAT appearance work and general litigation
  • Alternative dispute resolution.

Our clients include an enviable range of government and private insurers and large owners corporations.

About you

You will have completed your law degree and may be currently completing your post graduate studies and PLT or about to start your post graduate studies.

You are motivated, resourceful and enthusiastic, with a willingness to explore working in the dynamic insurance industry.

You will have strong academic results - and beyond your academic successes, you also possess the ability to apply your critical thinking skills.

The work requires attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills, initiative and strategic thinking. We are also looking for someone with a good sense of humour and a desire to work closely with a group of high energy and hardworking successful lawyers.

To be successful in this role you will need to possess the following qualities:

  • Enthusiasm and initiative
  • The ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
