· High quality resource management and local government work, including advocacy opportunities
· A genuinely supportive, inclusive and collaborative working environment
· A competitive package
An exciting opportunity for a lawyer with 2+ years’ experience to join a market leading resource management and local government law team, based in Auckland.
The RM/LG team at Brookfields is a market leader, acting for local and regional councils, developers, iwi and private clients on a diverse range of high-profile cases and developments, both locally and nationally. In addition to advisory, policy and project work, advocacy is a key part of our practice. We regularly appear before the Environment Court and the senior courts, as well as before council hearing panels, District Licensing Committees, and the Alcohol Regulatory & Licensing Authority.
You’ll have at least 2 years of relevant experience working as a resource management lawyer either in private practice or inhouse, with some advocacy experience. Some experience with local government advisory work would be a bonus, but is not essential. Lawyers returning to New Zealand from overseas with relevant planning and environmental law experience are also welcome to apply.
In addition to high quality and interesting work, including advocacy opportunities, we offer:
· A supportive, inclusive and collaborative working environment, where diversity of thought is valued
· A competitive package including participation in our employee bonus scheme
· Good work/life balance, including flexible working arrangements.
