Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for a driven and analytical individual to join the compliance team of a Milton based fund manager as a Compliance Support Officer. 

Australian Secure Capital Fund (ASCF) is a boutique mortgage fund manager and is the holder of an AFSL and ACL. The compliance team consists of a Compliance Manager and Director of Compliance and this role will be pivotal in supporting the day-to-day functions of compliance administration for registered and wholesale mortgage investment funds. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

As Compliance Support Officer you will mostly be assisting the Compliance Manager and Compliance Director with compliance administration and reporting, including:

  • Data entry and interpretation;
  • Tracking investor payments and loan payment movements;
  • Maintaining loan book, keeping it up to date and updating with any changes;
  • Reviewing loan files and documents;
  • Reviewing investor paperwork for compliance;
  • Drafting and submitting reports within ASCF and External Parties;
  • Meeting scheduling;
  • Minute taking in meetings;
  • Liaising with External Parties, such as regulators and law firms;
  • Additional compliance administration.

A large amount of your time will be spent working on Excel Spreadsheets and processing transactions. You must have proven experience of working with Excel spreadsheets and creating formulas at an intermediate level. As such, it is vital you have exceptional attention to detail.

Another large part of this role involves reporting to external parties including regulatory bodies, so you must have experience working to deadlines. This means there will be high pressure at times.

About you

  • You will need a degree from an Australian University in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Ideally you will also have completed a law degree or enrolled in PLT.
  • 1st or 2nd year university graduate is acceptable.
  • A background with lending, or banking would also be highly regarded.
  • You will have a strong interest in finance and law and be interested in developing your knowledge in these areas.
  • You will need strong verbal and written communication skills, and a well-developed analytical mind. 
  • You will have a willingness to learn and develop with a hunger to grow and learn new skills. 
  • You will need to work well in small teams, and have experience working unsupervised. 
  • This role needs someone who is proactive, highly organised and can problem solve.
