We are a small suburban law firm. Our practice involves family law, wills and estates and criminal law, contractual disputes including commercial leases, debt recovery, and litigation.
We are seeking a generalist solicitor with a minimum of 2+ years PAE to join our Team.
You will work in a broad range of areas including Family Law, Criminal and general Contract Law.
The role being offered is at first on a part time basis (4 days per week), and would suit a hardworking, autonomous lawyer in need of flexible hours.
Job Tasks and responsibilities
- Drafting, preparation and review of legal agreements and documents with an exceptional attention to detail and follow instructions from the principal solicitor
- Appear in Court for a variety of different matters
- Client interaction including correspondence, advising and conference under the direction and supervision of the acting solicitor
- Familiarity with time recording and billable hours
- Legal research
- General management of both hard copy and electronic file
Skill and experience
- Have a minimum of 2+ years PAE
- Demonstrated court work experience
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with a meticulous eye for detail
- A good working knowledge of the law
- Strong time management, problem solving and organisation skills
- Ability to communicate with clients from all backgrounds and walks of life
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
- Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within the company and externally
