About the role:

Smith’s Lawyers are seeking motivated candidates to join our team. Administration experience is required and previous exposure to paralegal work is desirable though not essential.

Based in our centrally located Southport office, this client-centric, fast-paced role requires a motivated, empathetic, and organised person with a strong attention to detail, who is looking for a long-term career in a thriving, supportive firm.

You will have the opportunity to help people who have been negatively affected by accidents at work or in a motor vehicle, to receive the justice they deserve. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Assisting Law Clerks and/or Solicitors with the management and progression of their files 
  • Communicating with clients, specialist Doctors, treatment providers and defendants 
  • Preparing briefs to specialist Doctors, Barristers, and Mediators 
  • Preparing and submitting requests to third parties (treatment providers, Medicare, Centrelink, WorkCover Queensland and others)

  • Previous experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal or a similar role is preferred though not essential.
  • Experience in personal injury claims preferred though not essential.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (intermediate in MS Outlook, Word and Excel as a minimum).
  • Positive attitude and willingness to lean and grow your career.
