The team at Yegal are hiring for a new paralegal position that may be of interest.


Client is a global financial services company with a focus on insurance solutions covering personal and business products;


Work will include reviewing contracts for material legal clauses and updating legal contract registers. The key focus will also be general administrative tasks that fall under the remit of the corporate governance team.

The successful candidates will report to the General Counsel and will support the business on a wide variety of corporate and financial services matters. Paralegals will provide specialist, commercially savvy and tailored legal support to business stakeholders in achieving both the strategic and operational objectives of the organisation.

The Paralegals will assist with Corporate Governance for the most part and also company secretariat functions, where required.

The contract period is 5 months. Applicants should assume a start date in mid July which means you must be available 3 days per week until at least November 2024. This would see the successful applicant through to the end of exams for Semester 2, 2024

Strong performance during the initial contract period may lead to an extension however this is at the discretion of the client.

Key responsibilities:

o conducting legal research and interpreting and applying law to issues

o reviewing, revising and drafting a range of commercial contracts

o assisting with our business partner arrangements

o ensuring that our systems are maintained effectively eg. legal document register

o undertaking administrative tasks relating to legal matters

o assisting in maintaining and developing processes for the legal function

o developing training programs and putting together presentations for employees

About You:

Preferably you will be in your final years of / have completed your law degree, and had previous paralegal or office experience. You must have an interest in contract, commercial and IT law and being part of a business environment. We can be flexible and fit your hours around your studies.

● Demonstrated competency with Excel for accounting purposes

● Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills

● A high level of verbal and written communication skills

● Attention to detail and accuracy

● Ability to prioritise, multi-task, meet deadlines and work with limited supervision

● Excellent academic results in your progression towards a Bachelor of Law

● Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential

● Keen to learn and grow as a commercial lawyer
