We are seeking a Junior Lawyer who has recently completed their Practical Legal Training or has up to 2 years of post-qualification experience to join our friendly and supportive Canberra team.

About the Role:

Based in Canberra, you will work closely with senior family law professionals, gaining valuable experience while contributing to a variety of family law matters. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assisting senior lawyers with advising clients on divorce & separation, property settlements, child support matters, relocations, and issues concerning de-facto and same-sex couples.
• Drafting documents, preparing correspondence, and conducting legal research.
• Providing empathetic client service under the guidance of senior lawyers.
• Assisting with client file management and ensuring all deadlines are met.
• Supporting business development efforts by building relationships with clients and referral networks.
• Collaborating with a national team of experienced family lawyers on various day-to-day matters.

About You:

You will be a Paralegal who has recently completed your Practical Legal Training or a Junior Lawyer with up to 2 years of post-qualification experience. You are eager to learn and grow in your family law career while supporting senior lawyers in their practice. 

You will be highly organised and have an eye for detail, with a strong desire to develop your legal skills in a supportive environment. You are motivated, eager to take on new challenges, and ready to contribute to the success of the team. You should also have the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues and clients.
