Experienced Wills & Estates Lawyer

Job Description

Lamont Law is a modern, multi-practice firm with offices and a strong digital presence across New South Wales. We are known for combining excellence in Criminal, Family, Business, and Wills & Estates Law with a forward-thinking, client-focused approach.

We are now seeking an experienced Wills & Estates Lawyer to join our Sydney-based team — someone who not only brings deep technical expertise but is also ambitious, commercially astute, and committed to delivering exceptional service to high-value clients.

This role offers a clear pathway to partnership, with the opportunity to work closely with Lamont Law’s senior leadership, including our Accredited Specialist in Family Law, and to collaborate across the firm’s Family and Business Law divisions on complex, multi-dimensional matters.

🌿 About the Role

You will take ownership of our expanding Wills & Estates practice, leading high-quality client work while helping shape the strategic direction of this division.

Your work will include:

  • Comprehensive estate planning, complex wills, and testamentary trust matters

  • Probate, estate administration, and family provision claims

  • Disputed estates and estate litigation (both plaintiff and defence)

  • Succession planning for family businesses and high-net-worth individuals

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with our Family and Business Law teams on matters involving blended families, company structures, trusts, and intergenerational wealth transfers

  • Mentoring and supervising junior lawyers and paralegals to uphold excellence across client service and compliance

The role involves direct engagement with sophisticated and high-end private clients across Sydney. You must be comfortable meeting with clients in person — including business owners, professionals, and family office representatives — and able to communicate complex legal concepts with clarity and empathy.

💼 About You

You are an accomplished lawyer who:

  • Has at least 5+ years PAE in Wills & Estates, including estate litigation and contested matters

  • Demonstrates strong drafting, advocacy, and advisory skills

  • Has experience supervising, mentoring, or leading junior practitioners

  • Is driven by career progression and partnership opportunity

  • Has a polished and professional presentation suitable for high-value client engagement

  • Enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues in Family Law, Business Law, and other practice areas

  • Is proactive, organised, and able to handle complex matters independently with strong commercial judgment

  • Values professionalism, ethics, and long-term client relationships

🌟 Why Join Lamont Law

At Lamont Law, we offer more than just a position — we offer a platform for professional growth and genuine ownership.

You’ll enjoy:

  • A clear and transparent pathway to partnership for outstanding performers

  • The opportunity to help lead a practice area and shape firm strategy

  • Collaboration with an Accredited Specialist Family Lawyer and senior commercial practitioners

  • Exposure to high-end private clients and complex, rewarding matters

  • Flexible work arrangements and modern digital infrastructure

  • A collegial, supportive environment that values initiative, trust, and excellence

  • Competitive remuneration, performance incentives, and partnership potential

📍 Location: Sydney (Hybrid work options available)
💼 Position: Full-time, permanent
💰 Remuneration: Competitive, commensurate with experience + performance incentives + partnership track
