Job Description

Black Cat Data is an innovative technology platform focusing on education in Data Science and AI.


We are looking for a driven Law Graduate or PLT Student to act as the company's in-house accounts receivable & legal officer. You will be working closely with the CEO and our external law firm on debt collection and other legal issues. This does not act as experience under the PLT program but is a paid role.


Skills and Qualifications

Must have

  • Law Graduate or PLT Student
  • You are eager to learn about debt collection and litigation processes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail 
  • Ability to make outbound phone calls to customers and liaise with internal/external staff
  • Ability to work autonomously

Nice to have

  • Experience in customer service, telesales or credit control
  • Experience in litigation and/or negotiation


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Managing the company’s accounts receivable and legal cases
  • Using the latest software such as Xero, CRM and other software
  • Executing outbound calls to debtors and arranging payment
  • Negotiating with debtors on payment plans and solutions
  • Reporting to stakeholders
  • Drafting legal Letters of Demand and Statement of Claims
  • Administration and posting of letters to debtors
  • Liaising with external lawyers and debtors on cases


The role is 4 hours per week and can be completed remotely.
