About the AAT The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) conducts independent merits review of administrative decisions made under Commonwealth and Norfolk Island laws. We review decisions made by Australian Government ministers, departments and agencies and, in limited circumstances, state government and non-government bodies. We aim to make our review process accessible, fair, just, economical, informal, quick and proportionate to the importance and complexity of the matter. Applications to the AAT are dealt with by members, registrars and other staff in nine divisions.
