Commencing September 2023, Sebastian De Brennan (barrister) is seeking an enthusiastic PLT student to work 3-4 days per week. Chambers based at Martin Place, Sydney CBD. Students with an interest in criminal, human rights, inquests, administrative, employment, family and migration law preferred. Responsibilities include legal research, proof reading, working on pro bono matters, file review and drafting chronologies on legal matters, summarising briefs of evidence, general administrative duties, sitting in on interviews with clients and solicitors, drafting content for submissions, articles and e-bulletins, follow-up on client matters, and attending court with barristers and solicitors from time to time. In particular, the successful candidate will be working substantially on a 43 year old case that has been reopened in the Supreme Court of NSW involving alleged wrongful convictions against six men.
