A position has become available for a full-time junior lawyer to join our busy and expanding practice located in Shepparton. Our firm practises in a diverse range of litigation including personal injury, wills and estates and commercial litigation. The role will primarily involve working on personal injury matters. 

The successful applicant will have the opportunity of developing a wide range of skills in the above areas of law. Whilst this role is suitable for a recently admitted lawyer, a pre-admission graduate may be considered if they have recent experience in personal injury. 

The role will include:

• Assisting the senior lawyer in the management of their case load
• Appearing and instructing in the Magistrates Court, County Court and Supreme Court
• Managing files autonomously from the commencement through to the conclusion of the matter, under supervision
• Drafting and preparing court documents, briefs to counsel and advice to clients
• Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients from a wide range of backgrounds

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following attributes:

• Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
• A high level of attention to detail
• A sound academic record
• Exhibit self-motivation and self-management
• The ability to work effectively within a team
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Experience with LEAP would be preferable, but not essential

Salary will be negotiated based on level of experience.
