A leading criminal barrister practising in the Auckland CBD is seeking a capable junior lawyer to join their practice. The role offers the opportunity to gain experience across a range of criminal advocacy matters. The role involves: • Interesting and varied criminal advocacy work • Legal research and drafting opinions, memoranda and submissions • Client care and interviewing • Courtroom appearances appropriate to the successful candidate’s experience and ability • Trial work The ideal candidate will have: • A current practising certificate • A genuine interest in developing a career in criminal advocacy • Strong academic results and up to three years’ PQE • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage a busy workload To apply, please email Louise Alexander at lalexander@collaw.ac.nz .
