The Australian Refugee Association Inc. (ARA) is a community-based organisation providing settlement, migration, and other forms of assistance to refugees, migrants and other people of concern. 

For more than 45 years, ARA has been assisting people from refugee and migrant backgrounds to settle permanently in Australia and create a better future for themselves and their families. At the heart of our migration services is a goal to reunite families wherever possible, as we recognise this is often key to successful long-term settlement.

Our compassionate team of registered Migration Agents and Legal Practitioners provide accurate and realistic guidance, expert advice and assistance with visa, residency and citizenship applications.

About the Organisation The Australian Refugee Association (ARA)'s Migration Services Team, trading as ARA Community Legal is offering Practical Legal Training (PLT) placements to motivated law graduates or final-year law students.  About the Opportunity This placement offers practical, supervised experience in migration law. The successful applicants will work closely with experienced migration lawyers to support client matters, legal research, drafting, file preparation and visa-related work. We welcome applications from all eligible PLT students and particularly encourage students from Arabic or Spanish speaking backgrounds to apply.
