Salvos Legal Humanitarian is an award-winning, social enterprise law firm owned by the Salvation Army. We provide free legal services to people who need them most, and have acted in over 18,000 pro-bono matters to date. Uniquely, we are fully funded by our commercial arm, Salvos Legal, which acts for NSW and Federal Government agencies, ASX 200 companies, SMEs, Not-For-Profits and individuals.

A volunteer placement with Salvos Legal Humanitarian offers you a unique opportunity to:
Gain “hands on” experience in criminal, family and refugee and migration law and day-to-day case management in a best practice environment;
Develop your foundational legal skills through active mentoring from our respected staff team;
Gain 4 months experience towards your unrestricted practicing certificate in a social justice context;
Participate in our internal CLE program, earning a minimum of 5 CLE points during your 4 month internship;

To secure this exciting opportunity you will need to be a junior solicitor with a genuine interest in humanitarian law, and a commitment to volunteering a minimum of 3 days/ week for 4 months. You will have strong communication and time-management skills, proven interpersonal skills including the ability to relate well to people from diverse backgrounds, and a desire to learn from more experienced practitioners while making an integral contribution to your team.
