Indus Lawyers, a progressive law firm located in Harris Park, invites applications from students wishing to undertake Practical Legal Training (PLT). The position is an unpaid voluntary placement, but an allowance will be paid to cover travel and other expenses. Our firm deals with a range of practice areas, such as: Conveyancing, Family Law, Commercial Law and Litigation. The right candidate will have: Basic legal knowledge; Strong written and verbal communication skills; A can-do attitude, passionate, dedicated, and hard-working; Attention to detail and good organisational skills; High level computer skills. We mainly deal in property, commercial law, civil litigation and family law matters.   About the role The role will have exposure to property (conveyancing and lease matters) general commercial (sale and purchase of business) as well as assisting the principal in litigation and family law matters. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes: Experience in litigation and family law matters and able to deal with clients; Be commercially minded with initiative and motivation; Strong work ethic and attention to detail; Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Ability to build and maintain client relationships; Worked in a law practice in NSW for at least two years.
