Position Overview The Research Specialist (Federal Crime) provides high level research, analysis and drafting support to the Federal Crime and Related Proceedings National Practice Area, with a focus on the development of policies and protocols for the coordination, administration, and supervision of jurors in FCA indictable criminal proceedings. Position Overview The Legal Case Manager (Federal Crime) position reports directly to a Senior Judicial Registrar who supports Judges in the Federal Crime and Related Proceedings National Practice Area. The position provides legal and administrative support to the Senior Judicial Registrars (Federal Crime) who exercise delegated powers in both federal crime proceedings and civil proceedings. The primary areas in which the Legal Case Manager (Federal Crime) will provide support are: Jury management and coordination, which includes: Coordinating all jury operations and supervising empanelled juries during indictable trials. Managing information relating to jury, communication and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant provisions of the Federal Court of Australia Act 1976 (Cth); Data processing and record keeping for juror information. Purpose of Position This Deputy Associate position is for a vacancy in the Chambers of Judge Papadopoulos.   The Deputy Associate is part of a small team who assist the Judge in the day-to-day management of Chambers and Court. This role also assists with the preparation of materials for the Judge and involves undertaking legal research and assisting with judgment preparation as required.  Please note that his Honour sits only in general federal law and does not hear family law cases.   Key Responsibilities and Duties Assist in the conduct of Court proceedings, including the transcription of orders, ensuring the orderly conduct of matters and general Courtroom management.
