Family Lawyers Required

Job Description

Family Law

Are you a seasoned family law litigator looking to practice law in a way that aligns with your values, that is expanding?

At TFA Legal, we’re transforming the way family law is practiced across Australia – and we’re looking for a Senior Solicitor with exceptional litigation experience to join our remote team.

Our model is trauma-informed, psychology-integrated, and rooted in client wellbeing. We support clients navigating complex parenting matters, coercive control, property division, and urgent safety needs – all through a multidisciplinary lens. If you're passionate about advocacy, ready to work autonomously, and want to be part of something more meaningful than traditional practice, we want to hear from you.

🔍 About the Role:

  • Lead and manage complex family law litigation matters, including parenting, property, and intervention orders (AVOs/IVO/Protection Orders).
  • Draft and review affidavits, initiate proceedings, conduct negotiations, and appear in court as required.
  • Provide strategic legal advice to vulnerable clients, often facing family violence, trauma, or high-conflict disputes.
  • Must be able to do a minimum of 5 billable hours per day
  • Attract clients to the firm due to your excellent customer service
  • Collaborate virtually with our national team of legal, psychological, and client wellbeing professionals.

You Will Need:

  • A current, unrestricted Australian practicing certificate.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ post-admission experience in family law litigation (extensive court experience required).
  • Strong advocacy, drafting, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting clients impacted by family violence and trauma.
  • High levels of autonomy, accountability, and a values-aligned approach.
  • Confidence working independently in a remote setting.

🌿 Why Join TFA Legal?

  • Be part of a truly innovative legal service that prioritises wellbeing for clients and staff.
  • Collaborate across disciplines with a team of lawyers, psychologists, and social workers.
  • Regular professional development, including access to in-house psychological specialists and a great EAP Team
  • A non-toxic workplace culture that respects your expertise and values your voice.
  • Opportunity to influence reform in the family law and family violence space.
