We are currently offering a volunteer Practical Legal Training (PLT) placement to a motivated and capable law graduate seeking to complete their PLT requirements. This is a unique opportunity to work directly under the supervision of the firm’s Director, a senior family law solicitor, and to gain hands-on, practical experience across multiple areas of law including criminal law and property law. Preference will be given to Mandarin speaking candidates.
Your Role Will Include:
Assistance with the drafting of legal documents such as affidavits, court applications, and consent orders
Attending and taking notes at client conferences
Conducting legal research
Liaising with courts, clients, and third parties
Assisting in conveyancing transactions and settlements
Supporting in criminal matters, including brief preparation
General administrative and legal support tasks
Key Selection Criteria:
Currently undertaking or about to commence a PLT program
Strong interest in family law or criminal law
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Professional, organised, and proactive approach
High level of discretion and attention to detail
Full-time availability is preferred, though part-time arrangements may be considered for the right applicant
Commitment:
Preferably full-time, minimum 3 days per week. Flexible start dates available.
Pathway to Employment:
This placement is unpaid; however, successful candidates may be offered a paid position upon completion of the PLT, subject to performance and operational needs.
