Working in a close-knit environment, you will deal directly with the Principal Solicitor and be trusted with meaningful responsibility. We value precision, accountability, discretion, and excellence in client service.

This is not a purely administrative role — it is a development opportunity for a capable and driven future solicitor.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional penultimate-year law student with prior family law experience who is serious about building a career in legal practice.

You will be involved in active matters across family law and other general practice areas and expected to operate with maturity, efficiency, and attention to detail.

A clear graduate pathway is available for the right candidate, with progression into a graduate or ongoing legal role upon completion of your degree, subject to performance and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting and formatting court documents and correspondence (primarily family law)
  • Conducting legal and factual research
  • Managing files and ensuring compliance with procedural requirements
  • Diary and deadline management, including court timetables
  • Professional client liaison
  • Supporting the Principal in the efficient conduct of matters

About You

  • Currently in your penultimate year of an LLB or JD
  • Strong academic record (distinctions/high credits preferred)
  • Previous family law experience is essential
  • Demonstrated diary management experience in a legal environment
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
  • Commercially aware, proactive, and solutions-focused
  • Professional, discreet, and resilient in high-pressure environments
  • Seeking a long-term pathway into legal practice

What We Offer

  • Direct mentoring from the Principal Solicitor
  • Meaningful, hands-on exposure to real matters
  • Flexible hours to support academic performance
  • Award-compliant pay and lawful employment conditions
