Law Graduate - Voluntary PLT Placement

The Opportunity

Sugar Research Australia (SRA) is offering a GDLP student a Voluntary (Unpaid) PLT Placement, to commence ASAP. This is a rare opportunity for a student to gain experience in an in-house corporate environment. You will be supervised by experienced senior lawyers, who will provide you with opportunities to:

·      Develop a practical understanding of legal regulations and the role of SRA

·      Enhance your legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills through:

• Contract review, drafting and negotiation
• Legal research in different areas of law
• Policy drafting and review

·      Develop stakeholder engagement through engagement with internal customers

·      Improve written and oral communication skills

·      Gain experience working in a professional environment

·      Understand the dynamics of an in-house legal team when dealing with other business units

·      Developing an understanding of the ethical and professional responsibilities of lawyers.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic students with the following attributes:

·      A law graduate, or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate law degree and is close to completing their studies

 ·     High attention to detail

·      Proactive with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet scheduled due dates

·      Willingness to try and learn new skills within the legal field in a corporate environment

·      A sense of humour.

Availability

It is expected that the student will meet the requirements of the GDLP PLT Placement program which includes a minimum of 7 hours per day, at least 3 days per week, or as otherwise agreed with the student.
