Riverwood Migration, a boutique migration law firm based in Sydney, is offering an exciting Practical Legal Training (PLT) placement for a motivated law graduate or final-year student.

Whether you are looking for part-time or full-time arrangements to complete your required PLT hours, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on, practical experience in the dynamic field of Australian migration law.

About You:

• A recent law graduate or final-year law student currently undertaking (or about to commence) your PLT in Sydney.

• Full working rights in Australia with a valid visa for at least 1.5 years (Australian PR/Citizenship is highly regarded).

• Professional fluency in English (Mandarin and Cantonese are highly regarded).

• Note: Employer sponsorship pathways may be available for the right candidate upon successful completion of the placement.

The Role: As a PLT Student at Riverwood Migration, you will work closely with our Senior Lawyers. This role offers real-world exposure to a diverse range of complex migration matters, giving you the chance to apply your academic knowledge to practical, day-to-day legal tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting legal research on migration legislation, policy, and case law.

• Drafting legal submissions, correspondence, and assisting with visa application forms.

• Liaising professionally with clients, the Department of Home Affairs, and other key stakeholders.

• Assisting with file management and maintaining accurate case records.

• Providing general administrative support to the broader legal team.
