Our firm is seeking a Solicitor, for a part-time role, commencing immediately, with the possibility to be offered the position on a permanent basis. The role is primarily in our Wills and Estates & Family Law Department. However, there will also be some legal work in Property Law and Commercial Law. This a great opportunity for a lawyer wishing to gain experience in a highly regarded local firm, and who has an interest, or experience in the said law fields. This role is on-site, not hybrid or from home (subject to the legislation).

 Responsibilities

  1. Preparing Family Law court documents, including affidavits, applications, and supporting material

  2. Providing legal assistance and support in Family Law matters, including parenting and property matters

  3.  Drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney

  4. Assistance in providing Grant of Probate/Adminstration

  5. Reporting to and working under the guidance of the Principal Solicitor

  6. Ability to work autonomously and manage assigned tasks responsibly

 Qualifications

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  1. Current Practising Certificate in Victoria, or about to apply for Practising Certificate (current PLT students will be considered)

  2. Experience with LEAP will be highly regarded.

  3. Minimum 1-year experience in practise is preferred (if still under Supervision, you will be supervised by our Principal Solicitor). However, we are willing to consider applications from current PLT students.

  4. Experience in Family law& Wills and Estates will be highly regarded.

  5. Candidate must live in or around Cranbourne West.
