PLT Work Placement - Immigration Law

We are currently offering an unpaid PLT Work Experience Placement for law graduates looking to complete their Practical Legal Training requirements.

About the Role

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for handling inbound phone calls from prospective and existing clients, along with miscellaneous legal support tasks. Duties will include:

• Answering inbound client enquiries by phone in a professional and friendly manner;
• Taking detailed file notes and triaging enquiries to the appropriate lawyer;
• Providing general information about our migration law services;
• Booking consultations and assisting with client intake; and
• Supporting the legal team with general administrative and file management tasks.

We are currently offering placements for one day per week. Please note that successful candidates will be requested to attend a half-day group orientation prior to commencing their placement on their scheduled day. 

About You

• Currently enrolled in, or about to commence, a PLT course;
• Excellent verbal communication and telephone manner;
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills;
• Interest in immigration law is highly regarded; and
• Multilingual candidates will be preferred.

This is not a work-from-home role – you will need to attend our office in the Melbourne CBD on your assigned day.
