Law Works Compensation Lawyers is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Paralegal to join our growing personal injury team.
We are a boutique compensation law firm based in Bankstown. We assist injured people with workers compensation, motor accident, public liability and TPD claims. Our work is client focused, practical and meaningful.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a busy legal environment, has strong attention to detail and takes pride in helping clients through an important time in their lives.
About the Position
You will work closely with our Principals and solicitors, assisting with the management of personal injury matters from commencement through to resolution.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Communicating with clients by phone, email and in person.
* Drafting correspondence and legal documents.
* Liaising with insurers, medical providers, barristers and other solicitors.
* Obtaining and reviewing medical records and reports.
* Preparing briefs to counsel and medical experts.
* Assisting with applications to the Independent Review Office and Personal Injury Commission.
* Managing appointments, reminders and key dates.
* Opening, maintaining and progressing client files.
* Preparing court and tribunal documents.
* Assisting with settlement conferences, hearings and general file management.
* Conducting legal research and administrative tasks as required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised and eager to develop their career in personal injury law. The ideal candidate will have:
* Previous experience as a paralegal, legal assistant or legal secretary.
* Experience in workers compensation or personal injury law preferred.
* Strong communication and client service skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
* Confidence using Microsoft Office and Adobe.
* Experience with LEAP preferred but not essential.
* Familiarity with IRO, PIC or the NSW Online Registry will be highly regarded.
* Availability to work from our Bankstown office during the probation period.
