Junior Lawyer (up to 2 years PQE) – Civil litigation and dispute resolution Auckland CBD

We act for councils and regulators across New Zealand on disputes and issues that are often complex, high profile and of real public significance.

We are looking for a lawyer to join our civil litigation team in Auckland. This is an opportunity for someone at the beginning of their legal career who wants to work on interesting and meaningful matters, learn from experienced lawyers, and build a strong foundation in litigation and public law.

 

The role

You will work across a broad range of civil litigation and dispute resolution matters, including:

  • civil litigation and building claims;
  • disciplinary, regulatory and enforcement matters;
  • environmental and public law disputes;
  • judicial review and statutory issues;
  • mediation and other ADR processes; and
  • general strategic advice to local authority and regulatory clients.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will:

  • be admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Hight Court of New Zealand;
  • have an interest in litigation, dispute resolution and public law;
  • have excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • be organised, proactive and eager to learn;
  • have strong attention to detail and good judgement;
  • enjoy working collaboratively and contributing to a positive team culture; and
  • be motivated to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
