My Legal Lawyers is a growing legal practice based in Melbourne, currently practicing in Immigration, Commercial and Property Law.

As part of our expansion, we are looking to establish a dedicated Family Law practice and are seeking an experienced Family Lawyer to join us in a Family Law partnership arrangement.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for an experienced Family Lawyer to build and lead the Family Law practice of My Legal Lawyers, with the support of an existing legal practice and established business infrastructure.

The successful practitioner will be expected to have the experience and capability to independently take carriage of Family Law matters from initial consultation through to finalisation, including negotiations, dispute resolution and court proceedings.

• Family Law client enquiries and leads;
• Established office facilities in Hallam, Melbourne;
• Administrative and business support;
• Legal practice software and relevant subscriptions;
• Marketing and website support;
• Office and practice-related overheads; and
• An established legal practice environment from which to develop the Family Law practice.

The proposed arrangement provides the successful practitioner with an opportunity to share in the growth and professional fees of the Family Law practice, with the commercial terms to be agreed and documented as part of the partnership arrangement.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Australian legal practitioner who:

• Has substantial practical Family Law experience;
• Holds an appropriate current practising certificate;
• Can independently manage matters from start to finish;
• Has experience with the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia (FCFCOA);
• Is confident with client advice, negotiation, drafting and court work;
• Can manage their own files, deadlines and client relationships; and
• Is interested in building and developing a Family Law practice on a long-term basis.

Areas of Family Law

Experience in matters involving parenting, property/financial disputes, divorce, family violence-related matters, financial agreements, negotiations, mediation and FCFCOA proceedings will be highly regarded.

About the Arrangement

This is intended as a Family Law practice partnership opportunity, rather than a conventional salaried employment position.

My Legal Lawyers will provide the business infrastructure, client leads and practice support, while the successful Family Lawyer will bring their professional expertise and take responsibility for the independent carriage and conduct of Family Law matters.

The final structure, responsibilities, professional obligations, costs, insurance, billing and revenue-sharing arrangements will be subject to a formal written agreement and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
