Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll work across a range of property-related commercial disputes, litigation, and advisory matters, including:

  • Property development, insurance, strata rules, leasing, and general property law
  • Insurance-related disputes, including policy interpretation, coverage issues, and claims management
  • Construction disputes and broader contractual issues
  • Debt recovery and enforcement matters
  • Strata and community title disputes, with a strong focus on Victorian legislation
  • Drafting legal correspondence, court documents, and client advice
  • Managing files and attending court hearings
  • Briefing counsel and preparing witness and expert evidence
  • Preparing materials for interlocutory and final hearings

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Intelligent, motivated and genuinely interested in developing a career in property law;
  • A proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment; and
  • Meticulous, well-organised and committed to delivering outstanding client service.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • A law degree (completed or near completion)
  • An interest in property law and/or commercial litigation, with any prior exposure (through clerkships, internships, or university subjects) viewed favourably
  • An understanding of court procedures, especially VCAT, Magistrates’ and Supreme Court, or a willingness to quickly learn
  • Strong academic results that reflect your commitment to excellence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal skills, and an eagerness to learn from senior practitioners
