Verge Legal is a boutique multidisciplinary law firm based in Melbourne. Our team comprises legal professionals from diverse backgrounds who practice in various areas of Australian law including litigation, property and commercial, family, wills & estates, and criminal law. 

Position summary

We are seeking law students or graduates who wish to take on an internship or complete their Practical Legal Training (PLT) with us.

This is a volunteer unpaid position with an opportunity for the right candidate to be offered a full-time junior solicitor position upon completion of their internship.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Undertaking legal research.
2. Preparing chronologies, reports and summaries.
3. Reviewing documents and contracts.
4. Fielding client enquiries and calls.
5. Assisting in miscellaneous day-to-day administrative duties.

Selection criteria

1. Ability to work in a team whilst being self-directed in their learning.
2. Open to learning and be exposed to all areas of practice.
3. Attendance in-person at our Melbourne CBD office is required for duration of PLT.
4. Candidates who are proficient in Mandarin will be preferred.
