Paralegal/PLT | Internship

Wan & Co Lawyers, a boutique law firm specialising in immigration law, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented penultimate-final year law student to join our dynamic team.

About the Role:

This role is ideal for a penultimate to final-year law student, looking to complete part of their Practical Legal Training (PLT), or aspiring solicitor with a passion for immigration law. This will be a work placement opportunity in line with College of Law or other PLT practical component requirements.

You will be working closely with our Managing Director who is an Accredited Specialist in Immigration Law to:

• Conduct legal research and draft documents.
• Prepare and lodge immigration applications.
• Manage client files and correspondence.
• Liaise directly with clients and external parties.
• Provide general administrative support to solicitors.
• Assist with ad hoc tasks to ensure smooth operations.

What We’re Looking For:

• Penultimate to final year of a law degree of an Australian law school (LLB or JD);
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese).
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Prior experience in immigration law is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal software is a plus.
