Practical Legal Training (PLT) Placement

About the Placement

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic law graduates or final year law students completing their Practical Legal Training (PLT) to undertake the work experience component of their course within a corporate, in-house legal team operating in the car parking industry.

You will provide support to our legal team, and work closely with our Senior Legal Counsel, who will provide you with ongoing support and mentorship throughout the placement. 

All work will be closely supervised and reviewed by our experienced Senior Legal Counsel. This is an unpaid work experience position and presents a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, corporate environment.

Key Responsibilities

In your role, you will assist with:

  • Administrative tasks and legal file management

  • Legal research

  • Review and analysis of commercial contracts (including car parking management agreements, licences, leases and services agreements)

  • Drafting legal letters and email correspondence

  • Assisting with the preparation of legal advice

  • Assisting in the drafting and review of legal documents and contracts

  • Exposure to compliance, risk, and operational legal issues in a corporate setting.

All tasks will be supervised by an experienced solicitor with an unrestricted practising certificate, who will work closely with successful candidates to provide training and constructive feedback as part of the learning experience. Work will be reviewed and constructive feedback provided as part of the learning experience.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Have completed, or be in the final year of, a law degree

  • Be able to attend our head office in North Sydney on their nominated days

  • Ability to prioritise deadlines and maintain a high level of attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Have a proactive and positive attitude with a strong desire to learn

  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that this placement meets the requirements of their specific PLT course provider. Applicants should obtain prior written approval from their PLT course provider before commencing, to ensure the placement counts toward their PLT requirements.
