Job Description
We are seeking a motivated property lawyer to join our dynamic team. This role is open to candidates at various stages of their career, including newly admitted solicitors.
The successful candidate will assist with and manage a varied caseload of property matters, including residential and commercial conveyancing, as well as commercial and retail leasing, working closely with and reporting directly to the firm’s directors.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with and managing residential and commercial conveyancing matters from inception to completion
- Preparing, reviewing, and advising on commercial and retail leases (landlord and tenant)
- Conducting property searches, preparing contracts, and reviewing legal documents
- Liaising with clients, real estate agents, mortgage brokers, and other stakeholders
- Providing advice to clients on property and leasing matters (commensurate with experience)
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including retail leasing legislation
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date file management
- Assisting with resolving issues arising in transactions and leasing matters
- Assisting with electronic settlements (including PEXA) with training provided
- Preparing post-settlement and post-execution correspondence
Requirements
- A current NSW Practising Certificate or to be admitted shortly
- Strong interest in property law, including conveyancing and leasing
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A client-focused approach and willingness to learn
Prior experience in conveyancing, leasing, or PEXA is beneficial but not required - training will be provided.
