Family Lawyer

CJY Legal is hiring a Family Lawyer / Solicitor (1–3 years PAE) to join our growing team in Burwood.

About the role

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Burwood, Sydney NSW.

You will work primarily in family law matters, including:

• parenting disputes
• property settlements
• divorce applications
• consent orders
• binding financial agreements
• ADVO-related family law matters
• mediations, conciliation conferences, and settlement negotiations
• court appearances in the FCFCOA

The role involves taking client instructions, managing files under supervision, drafting correspondence and court documents, preparing affidavits and orders, liaising with counsel and other professionals, and maintaining regular client contact. You will also participate in case strategy discussions and contribute to maintaining high standards of client service and professional practice.

Requirements

• admitted solicitor in NSW with a current practising certificate
• 1–3 years post-admission experience in family law
• sound knowledge of family law legislation, court rules, and procedures
• experience drafting affidavits, orders, case outlines, and other court documents
• strong drafting, communication, and client management skills
• ability to manage files independently and meet competing deadlines
• experience with court appearances preferred
• strong organisational and time management skills
• ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment
• Chinese language skills preferred but not essential
