Qualifications & Experience
At least 1 year’s PAE in a general practice firm.
Experience in Local Court criminal appearances (mentions, bail applications, short hearings) is desired.
Conveyancing or Family Law experience is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail – nothing gets past you.
Strong time management skills; able to handle competing priorities.
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Previous experience in Court attendances across the Supreme Court, Federal Circuit and Family Court, and Local Court will be highly regarded.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Appear in Local Court criminal proceedings (mentions, directions, bail, and short hearings).
Prepare court documents, affidavits, and submissions.
Conduct legal research.
Collaborate with barristers on case management.
Interact with clients and assist them with real-life legal situations.
Court attendances in various jurisdictions.
Review and prepare security documents, deeds of guarantee, loan agreements, shareholder agreements, and lease documents.
Mentor and guide interns and clerks.
