The College of Law Victoria is looking to engage Independent Contractors to conduct online student assessments, facilitate on-site and/or online skills intensives and conduct online courses in our Practical Legal Training (PLT) Program from July 2026 onwards.
We invite expressions of interest from suitably qualified legal practitioners. Engagement in these “adjunct” roles will be on an as-needed and when-required basis. Most engagements will occur during standard business hours, from 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday, so availability during these times is highly desirable.
Practitioners with Advocacy skills and experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
Assessor Roles
Assessments are conducted on a continual basis throughout the year via online web-conferences in 1-hour duration for compulsory subjects and 45 minutes duration for elective subjects, across a range of 12 practice areas. Assessments are scheduled on weekdays between 9:00am and 8:00pm, in morning, afternoon or evening blocks. Availability for blocks of 3 to 4 hours is preferred. Most assessments take place during business hours; only a small number are scheduled between 5:00pm and 8:00pm.
Workshop Facilitator Roles
The College of Law delivers full-time and part-time PLT programs. Each program includes a professional skills intensive, which consists of a series of half day and all-day workshops delivered on-site at our Melbourne CBD Campus or online via Zoom. These skills intensives run over 1 week, Monday to Friday or in the evening, for 2 nights per week over 6 weeks.
Following the professional skills intensive, the PLT program continues with an online course delivered over 15 weeks (full-time) or 30 weeks (part-time). These programs commence every 2–4 weeks throughout the year.
