Associate to the Honourable Justice Clements, Common Law Division

The Honourable Justice Clements was appointed to the Supreme Court of Victoria on 8 September 2026. He is seeking a legally qualified individual to be his Associate commencing in November 2026.
Before his appointment, his Honour practised mainly in areas of personal injury, product liability, class actions, general torts, institutional liability, and insurance and professional disciplinary tribunals.
Prior to his appointment, he was a trustee of the not-for-profit organisation Law Aid and on the committee for the Common Law Bar Association. His Honour is looking for a person who is interested in the law and the administration of justice, is enthusiastic and diligent, and who pays close attention to detail, particularly in respect of written work.

About You
You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to confidently and accurately convey information over the telephone, in person, and via written communication to members of the legal profession, the public and the media.
Exceptional proofreading and writing skills, proficiency in grammar and an excellent academic record is essential.
Applicants must be legally qualified, holding an LLB, JD, or equivalent tertiary qualification in law. At least 18 months post admission experience is highly desirable.

The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.
