Associate to the Honourable Justice Hay

The Honourable Justice Hay was appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court on 21 April this year and is seeking a highly motivated legally qualified individual to be his Associate commencing in June 2026.
His Honour has extensive practice experience in commercial, administrative and common law matters and now sits in the Common Law Division of the Court. He will hear a wide variety of civil matters across the division.
Prior to his appointment, his Honour was Chair of the Victorian Legal Services Board, and Junior Vice President of the Australian Bar Association. His Honour has a particular interest in highly motivated candidates with an interest in pursuing careers at the Bar.

About You
You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to confidently and accurately convey information over the telephone, in person, and via written communication to members of the legal profession, the public and the media are essential to this role.
Exceptional proofreading and writing skills, proficiency in grammar and an excellent academic record is essential.
Must be qualified in Law with 2-3 years post admission experience highly desirable.

The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.
