PLT Candidate / Solicitor – Sydney CBD | Wentworth Lawyers & Partners

Position: PLT Candidate (Volunteer) / Solicitor
Location: Sydney CBD (hybrid may be available)
Commitment:

• PLT Candidate: 2–3 days per week (subject to PLT requirements)

• Solicitor: Contract (to be agreed)

• Duration: To be agreed

Wentworth Lawyers & Partners is a Sydney-based law firm advising both corporate and individual clients. We focus on practical outcomes, clear communication, and efficient legal processes across a range of commercial and personal matters.

Role Overview

We are seeking:

• A motivated PLT student for a supervised volunteer placement; and

• A solicitor seeking hands‑on experience across multiple practice areas.

Both roles involve close supervision, exposure to real client matters, and opportunities to develop strong drafting and procedural skills.

Key Responsibilities

(For both PLT and Solicitor roles, with solicitor responsibilities expanding depending on experience)

• Legal research and preparation of concise research memoranda

• Drafting correspondence (letters, emails) and file notes

• Assisting with preparation of court/tribunal documents and evidence

• Document review, summaries, chronologies and indexes

• Proofreading, formatting and preparing contracts and legal documents

• General file administration and matter support

• Solicitor only:

  • Handling and managing files under supervision if required.

  • Attending court/tribunal appearances where appropriate

  • Client communication and matter progression

Practice Areas Exposure

Depending on workflow, you may gain experience in:

• Commercial and corporate

• Employment law

• Litigation and dispute resolution

• Property and leasing

• Immigration and administrative review

• Wills, estates and general advisory work (as required)

What We’re Looking For

PLT Candidate:

• Enrolled in (or eligible for) a PLT placement

• Strong written English and attention to detail

• Professional, reliable, and proactive

• Comfortable with Microsoft Word and PDF document handling

• Second language skills desirable but not essential

Solicitor:

• Admitted or soon to be admitted in NSW

• Interest in developing broad generalist experience

• Professional, organised, and client‑focused
